Threat Alert System
The Florida Association of the Deaf (FAD) Emergency list is an alert system to warn Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Late-Deafened and Deaf-Blind Floridians of hazardous weather such as hurricane or other disasters. You may use your pager email address for fastest response versus your pc email address. FAD is not responsible for failed message due to some pagers not receiving message. The emergency list will always be text based to ensure message will be compatible to all devices.
It is open to everyone. No email address is shared with third parties. FAD respects the rights to privacy.
People who want to sign up for the emergency alert system can go to the FAD website at www.fadcentral.org and sign up for the FAD e-zine.

Link to New Signed and Captioned Video from Illinois "Emergency Preparedness: Together We Prepare"
The Illinois Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission (IDHHC) has released the video “Emergency Preparedness: Together We Prepare.” The video is shown in American Sign Language and is fully captioned. Its purpose is to provide instruction to individuals and families in all 50 states on how to prepare for a natural disaster. We want to thank the Illinois Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission and the Illinois Emergency Management Agency for giving us permission to post a link to this important video, which provides access to crucial information for the deaf and hard of hearing community, on our website.
